View Full Version : Crysis Beta Feedback Thread
I have a tip for all of you... Stop running AA, and only run like 4X to 8X AF.
It a beta, deal with out AA for a bit.
Anyone got any performance tips, cause atm it runs prettty bad
Running native rez of 1680x1050, fps feels like 5-30 depending on scene :(
Any tweak guides around or config settings ?
If ya on Vista there's not alot u can do ATM. I put things like post-processing and shadow detail on low. Helps a bit. U can enable a FPS and RAM MB monitor in the 'system' file. Can't remember the code but it's on the beta site.

Honestly, there isn't much to config. Run XP (Crysis is only supported for XP, not Vista) and just play around with the graphical settings until you hit the sweet spot. With my rig, I can get a solid 30FPS with XP and messing around with the settings. Good luck.

Where is this games explorer folder? When I installed it, it didn't put an icon on the desktop, so I did a search and found the install folder and made a shortcut on the desktop, but I found no games explorer folder.
It should be in the "Games" folder. It's an icon that looks like a starry trophy.
If you've got a default install, it will look like...C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Games\GameExplorer.lnk

That water, oh my goodness....I thought it looked already incredible in the beta, but this is insane! REAL WATER!!!!! Finally, what a break through.
Awsome! There is quite a difference with 'Very High' setting huh. U reacon there will release beta 3 with these settings, that'd be very nice. Get Vista running good at the same time :D :D :D
BTW BioHazZarD, those settings did actually help a bit. As did the DX10 setting, much to my supprise. Together they gave about 5-10 fps and it was a fair bit smoother too with the DX10 setting.
Do ya think it's a driver thing or a Crysis thing with Vista?

I can't tell the difference between those screenies and those on here of the Beta on max settings. They just look a little darker/brighter than DX9 shots to me. But hey, I've never seen the advantage of DX10 over DX9 anyways. Oh well. :D

None. The only game that has somewhat comparable water is Silent Hunter 4 but since itīs a sub simulator and basically only shows water and ships, it canīt really be compared. Crysis has the best water in a FPS game with huge levels.
Have you noticed how the animals still run away from you is spectator mode. Must have ESP or something, lol

In the divx videos, youll note they seem to run away from you when your cloaked too.. so its prolly their ai is not set to ignore you if your in specific modes yet.

What is that cross bow kill btw..
hehe...it does look like a crossbow now that you mention it. It's actually a person laying down. You get that when you run over someone. :)
