Have you played it in WinXP? I just went back to XP after two weeks of Vista on my new system. It runs so much smoother on XP then it did in Vista, in fact, everything does.

Everything is running better for you in XP?

Yea I read that report too man but just speaking from personal experience XP just flat out runs better on my rig. Even with all the hotfixes, updates & patches installed, the system just did not run like it should. Too many BSOD's, random program errors, immature drivers. I'll reload it again come November but for now, everything I play runs fine in XP.

Yeah, sometimes I wonder if the average frame rates displayed on review sites are hiding true performance deficits (like minimum frame rate and stutters).

I haven't been able to get into this beta. Too many controls for a FPS. I just want to esplode stuff. Let me run around with my buddies killing other pixel enemies. I do like to look at all the pretty scenery tho.

Bah, there is only one major control difference between this and any other FPS and that's the suit mode selector which is handled with one button.

I don't like Quake Wars. I like Crysis. I can't wait for the single player game. And no, it isn't like any other FPS. There are more controls for routine tasks. Go try TF2. The controls are at a minimal. It is a very slick system.

That being said, I do like this. I just haven't gotten the hang of it for some reason.

its also not a dedicate server and has 800ping, heh. I just played on there. It was nice to see the day/night cycle. In a multiplayer setting, it really adds to the realism of the environment. Really looking forward to the full version.

yeah day night was cool, the sun sort of jerked into position though which looked a bit funny. And the lag on that server was unbearable, 400+ ping and usually 800 ping is not playable.

I was there as well (spectating). Really nice, great nukes but yes laggy as hell because of the pings.
