Hi Guys, im having h.264 issues, just tried to watch some hd video from gametrailers and diggnation but all I get is a few seconds of video, then it freezes, the audio continues, then a few more seconds of video. Constand audio but random video.
I have a core2duo x6800, a 8800gtx and 2gb 8500+ (vista 32bit)
Cheers for your help

what drivers are you using and what codec are you using for h264?

try vlc player to see if that works, if it does then it could either be a driver issue or a codex issue.

Hey, they were h264.mov's im trying to play through quicktime.
All I have installed are my latest forceware drivers and as far as codecs go, well all I have installed is divx and mplayer classic

MPC should work with ffdshow:

Thanks, I downloaded it, but MPC crashes about 5 secs into the video. Do I need to configure ffdshow/mpc at all? Any ideas why quicktime is fudged? (all other quicktime formats work fine btw)

I would use coreavc if I were you.
Load it and the Haali media splitter. Fire up MPC. Go to external filters. Add one. Find "CoreAVC video decoder" or whatever it's called. Once added, click "Prefer".
Should work at that point.
