View Full Version : Sony GDM-FW900 24" CRT Monitors (2)
I have two Sony GDM-FW900 24" CRT Monitors that I am looking to sell. At present I am looking to see if there is any interest in them before I pack them in shipping crates.
Both of them have an excellent picture and the tubes have no scratches or problems at all. One of them does need some minor adjustments that apparently can be made in a TV repair shop, but I've never bothered to take it because it is huge and I've since upgraded to a slimmer LCD display. The second one, from what I've been told, needs a new capacitor. It works fine but sometimes it shuts off and I have to turn it back on. It happened maybe once or twice during a 4 hour session at the time I replaced it with the LCD. I ended up with two because I originally thought I'd have spare parts in case one completely died.
I'm selling them now because I've gotten used to the LCD and they simply are taking up too much room in the house.
I'm willing to let them both go for $250 + shipping but would of course sell each one separately. However, make an offer if you're interested.

Stock photo, but they both look just like this except one is slightly greyer in color.

where are they shipping from?
Pics? and how old are these?
Just for people looking at these, they are 95lbs a piece but are the absolute BEST CRT Monitor that you will ever lay eyes on.
I used to dream about having this exact monitor. I could only get the 520P 21" though. These monitor's are for the seriously hardcore gamer. Refresh rates up to 120hz. Sick!
1920x1200 native resolution at 100hz. Amazing! Picture quality is excellent as long as the tubes are in good condition.
Great buy for someone who knows how to work on electronics or someone who knows someone.
Good luck.

I am in East Tennessee (USA)
These both have mfg dates in 2001. (I think they were last made in 2003)
I can post pics if the interested buyer really needs a few, thats no problem. I just have not yet because they are both in huge boxes filled with a bunch of GT's and I hate hauling the beasts out if I don't need to due to the size and the GT clean up. :)
My impression of these is that for desktop use, my new BenQ LCD is sharper, but these blow the BenQ away for games...especially dark games and fast motion games due to the refresh rates which can be set pretty high.
Anyway, they are older, used (obviously) and not quite perfect but are available if someone is interested and has the time to tune them.
Feel free to PM me too.

I am out, even with my work account its still $70 a monitor to ship to Utah.
I cant justify spending $400 on used monitors :(
For anyone close to TN this is a steal though!!!
Bump for great CRTs and for a guy that mad me laugh my ass off at the ghost turd comment. everyone in the office got a kick out of it too ;)
Why couldn't you be in Australia...sigh.
I've been trying to get my hands on some of these for a long time now, but it's as if not a single person, store, or anything in AU has any of these to sell. I see so many of them on eBay (.com) for such cheap prices, but none of the tightwads will ship here :(

Another Aussie here who would love one of these. However I'm pretty sure the shipping costs alone would change my mind. :(
Still the best monitor you can sort of buy IMHO

If it wasn't for the shipping, I'd have bought at least once.

so 250+100x2=450
Thats a bit too much for 2 monitors for me
By any chance, are these still available?
