I see lots of sources for sales statistics from online sources (i.e. NPD Group) regarding console sales and how many Video games sold by titles, but nothing that gives an idea of how many video card chips or units of a certain series has sold. Does any one know where to find it online?

I think it the best for you to contact NVIDIA to obtain Geforce 8800 series sales figures, NVIDIA collected Geforce 8800 series sales data from all partners and compliled the figures every month.

I remember here was a news of sales figures for the first 3 months since the November launch, over 800,000 Geforce 8800 GTX and GTS cards was sold. :)

It must be close to about 2 million now. Thats a load of cash for Nvidia.

yeah sure it's nice for them but what about us, DX10.1 makes current cards obsolete so any 8800, 8600 are deadend products for gaming atleast. MS changed the specs apparently on DX revision and current cards do not support features required by MS now for win me 2007. I will not spend another 500 or so bucks for some dead end transisition card.

I doubt it will be obsolete. First of all, 90% of the market is still DX9. DX10.1 will provide a few basic improvements, no real overhaul. You are fine with the 8800.
