NVIDIA has finally gotten a strong grip on the media's throat with the selective information and press releases they are putting out. It's no wonder we can't speculate on the NV55 / Gxx that we call the GeForce 9800 series, because they simply haven't provided with a codename yet. The G92 is officially the 8700GTS, the G98 is some lower end model priced at $59, and the G86 is unconfirmed? I'm still placing high bets that they are going to call it the G90, but then again I can't be sure of it. As for a November 2007 release date, I would agree that it's highly probable considering the company's history of high end cards, as well as staying competitive with AMD/ATi's new upcoming lineup. Additionally, German based CryTek has given some hints about working exclusively with Intel and NVIDIA to give gamers the "best possible experience", meaning that Intel would release its Extreme Edition of the 45nm Penryn "Yorkfield" and "Wolfdale" chips in November, and NVIDIA would accordingly release the GeForce 9800 series.

Anyways, congrats to NVIDIA for keeping their release info on the "down low". As much as you all want a definitive answer, I'm very sure that it will be a November release for the GeForce 9800.

GeForce 9800GTX + Intel Core 2 Quad 45nm Hi-k "Yorkfield" + SSE4 + Crysis = pwned? YES.

Here's hoping my 8800GTS will run Crysis ok before upgrade to 9800. At least I won't have a VRAM issue.

Yeah my CPU is the main problem... only equivalent to C2D @ ~2.2ghz? :(

Will probably do a nice upgrade when Yorkfield comes out.

Ah, poopie. That shouldn't be right. That is basically a FX-62, no way it is 'slow'. I would say it would run Crysis good, maybe not at the maximum settings, but at least on high.

I am hoping my 8800GTX will be more than fine for at least another 6 - 12 months. I have yet to even really overclock it and it has yet to hit any real issues in any games out. Plus I just made the jump to quad core to buy myself some extra processing power so I think I am ready for the new games coming out :) Bring em on! :D

Whoever posted that had his head under a rock. His sources are from February. Don't believe the lie, just because he posted this September 16, 2007

Yea, its just this that worries me from someone who has the Beta:

I'm sorry but with your rig the only way you're running at 1920 resolution is with all settings on low

At the last minute.I have done a about face after reading,and then re-reading the posts on B3D.More and more they seem to think a high end
GTX level card is only a few months away.

It now does seem very probable,given that 'G9X' would have been r n'd at least a year or two ago.I think it will be single chip,and just as the analyst call said,1 billion transistors and 1 Tera flop on a single chip @ 65nm.

Till late this year, or early next year don't expect anything but speculation, but if I were a gambling man.

8300G 32 Shader Cores 64bit 128Mb/ 256mb GDDR2 $60
8700GT 64 Shader Cores 128bit 256mb GDDR3/ 512mb GDDR2 $140
8700GTS 64 Shader Cores 256bit w/ 256mb GDDR3 2Ghz/ 512mb GDDR3 1800Mhz $200/250
8900GTS 128 shader cores 256bit w/ 512mb GDDR3 2Ghz $375
8900GTX 192 shader cores 512bit w/ 512mb GDDR4 2.4Ghz $500
8900U 192 shader cores, 512bit w/ 1GB GDDR4 2.4Ghz $600

8700GTS = 8800GTS
8900GTS = 8800GTX
8900GTX = 8800GTS SLI + 20% Gain
8900U = 8800GTX SLI

Makes a lot of sense, don't you think?

The Question is: does Nvidia need to launch a new highend card this year? Actually Nvidia is performance leader these days and will be till ATi will release R680 (if it exists) which will be spring 08. They earn a lot of many with their current line up so I'm not sure what we have to expect for this year. 8700GTS will be somewhere between 8600GTS und 8800GTS 320MB, so nothing mind blowing.

Well it would make sense if they release the next high end card in November like every November no matter what the competition is from ATI.

November:
New Intel CPU lineup
New Nvidia Graphic card lineup
New Nvidia Chipset, new MOBO
CRYSIS!

What where the sales numbers for FarCry? I do not see Crysis driving all this hardware to be released on any given date being real. It seems more plausible that people are getting crysis crazy in the head. But hopefully I am wrong I would like to see a new 8700 GTS avil for sale some time soon.
