ok. i have installed everything and i go to install Windows XP and i get a BSOD saying:
A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
If this is the first time you have seen this stop message screen restart your computer.
If it appears again follow these steps:
Check to be sure you have adequate disk space.
If a driver is identified in the stop message, disable the driver or check with manufacturer updates
Try changing video adapters
Check with your hardware vendor for any bios updates
Disable cahing or shadowing memory

If you need to use safe mode to remove or disable components restart your computer and press F8 to select advanced start up options then select safe mode

I have tried to reseat the ram and tried a new hdd

What could the problem be?

try the install with just one stick of memory installed

Yeah that sounds like a bad mem stick, a bad memory controller, or a bad overclock.

I have tried one stick of memory. So could i have a bad cpu memory controller.

Or just another ECS mobo being stupid.

what should i do? Buy a new mobo or should i flash the BIOS

ok. i think i figured out my problem. I want to say it was the XP cd i was using because i have tried to WIN2000 and i have installed Freespire and Now WinXP x64 trial version and all of those worked just fine.
