Well,

It all started with Lost Planet, and how it was using all four cores quite nicely. Next, I reinstalled Medal of Honor: Airborne (XP) and wow, now that is how a game should utilize four cores!
(nana2) (nana2) (nana2)
I'm at least seeing a 10-20fps increase in FPS. Like on the first mission (the same as the demo mission) where you jump out of the plane, and look down at all those Germans shooting at you. Normally, on a dual-core e6400 it was around 32-38fps, and now, it was around 57-80fps! Inside the plane it'd even hit well over 100fps! :D

So I'd just like to say, THANKS Tim Sweeney for this awesome engine, Unreal Engine 3, and thanks EA for an excellent Medal of Honor game that runs great!

Here's my Fraps benchmark. This is at the first mission, where you're sitting in the plane, and I let it benchmark until I about landed, so this was in a very heavy fire scene. :D

Minimum: 57
Maximum 112
Average: 77.714

I did have a PrntScrn of the four-core utilization, but I copied over it with these numbers by accident.

As for my Lost Planet results, see here:

Edit:
Went back and got another screengrab of the CPU usage during MOH:A :)

Update:

Bioshock appears to not be using quad-core like other Unreal Engine 3 games (except for the R6:Vegas).

Good thread. We need a list of more games that utilize quads. I'll be getting one soon.

Does Bioshock benefit from a quad?

I want QX6950 now. I might as well get a Q6600 while waiting but I just don't feel like making a trip to Sham Shui Po (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sham_Shui_Po) now.

I am not sure is FSX offically supports it... but now that I got my quad I can max all of the settings and it's now smooth as butter! (where it would even choke down at some points on my dual) :D Also my 3dMark06 Score went up about 1500 points, F.E.A.R. seems to go up big time too. Supreme Commander was smooth for me on my dual core with occasional hickups... now it runs perfect! From what I have seen there is quite a difference between my Quad and Dual core, which to be honest surprised me. :) I'm very impressed with this quad... and for the price of the Q6000 G0... with a good OC its a damn steal! :D

I thought it only benefited from having dual cores.

Bioshock does benefit from quad. Most newer UE3 games do. Such as Airborne.

I wholeheartedly concur, DiRT went through the roof, buggy races etc are nice and smooth now. :)

Same with Airborne.

Depending on how many games I play that benefit from quad cores, I'll probably pick up a 45nm as soon as they are available in the $300 range. :)

I don't really feel that I need one right now though. Everything I have runs so damned good...

... except for Crysis beta... :p

Stupid me ;) I got the quad core in after I finished Bioshock and MoH:A but I'm playing the hell out of Two Worlds now and it got a kick in pants from the quad core upgrade. I know that most of the, yet to be released, AAA titles coming out this season are going to benefit from > cores also.....
I'll post more when I'm not at work :(

Spoken of Quad-Core update. Do you have to reinstall the OS when you just swap the CPU?

So did you finally sell the other? If not, run both. Your other ram should run at the same frequency as the G.SKill- and just down clock that other RAM... or was that other RAM DDR3- I'm forgetting...

lol

Well let us know how it runs. If I could swing that much I'd be all over it. 45nm would be nice. I'm still disappointed they're not introducing more than just the Extreme model, but oh well. I'll live, I guess.
