Dear all, help Pls:)

DELL 8500 widescreen with Geforce4 Go

Ive just downloaded the latest nvidia driver on mandrake 9.1, so X11 4.3xx I guess. The driver installs fine. Loaded with no error (I have tried auto as well as insmod). But freezes in a big time when I start X. Xlog shows no error (for may be I am just quite dump to find one) but stops at 'loadmodule nvidia' stage. But with I do X --probeonly the log is fine and it can load and find all modlines.
When I go back to 'nv' driver that comes with mandrake, it works fine.

The only thing I wanted to update is to get 3D working.

My quesion is :

Does linux driver supports Geforce4 Go?

Do I need a module options such as flatpanel, mobile to be on???

Please help me.

I have attached the log, in the log it seems like it freezes on loading glx, but with I remove load glx it freezes on loading nvidia_drv.

There's a section in the README about different options to pass to the kernel module when it gets loaded. One, in particular, is useful for laptops (look in Appendix K, I think), and there's a specific NVreg_Mobile option that you may have to be using.
