Was wondering what the upgrade code name is for the Q6600, which is called Kentsfield, is this right? Is it the Yorkfield?

Looking at the Intel road map, I'm trying to decide to wait or buy a new system now...

Any predictions or estimates on performace increases would also be appreciated...

Thanks,

What do you have now? Thats the only way to know if you will see a real difference. I went from an E6600 to a Q6600 and I noticed quite a bit of difference :) And what do you mean by upgrade Codename? Are you talking about the new G0 fabs for the Q6600? If so you are looking for SLACR in the product code.

Don't have one now :) looking at buying a new system and wondering if I should wait or pull the trigger now... basically I'm looking at purchasing this:

But am unsure if Intel is going to release the next version of this in the next couple months, I'm usure of how to read this Intel release roadmap:

In other words, I'm wondering if I should buy now or would I see a significant benefit if I waited until the end of January...

Thanks,
