Not a bad card. The card is more less a 2900XT that after overclocks from both cards comes in about 50Mhz~ slower core. Would be better then the 8800 GTS 320 for games like Crysis and other new games because of the 512mb. For $250 starting price looks like a good deal.

Probably what they should have released in the first place, or sold the XT for much less.

I think more folks would have been open to a 250usd card that performs like that.

The Pro is a really nice card. Are there any OC results on the web?

the price of the upcoming 8800GT needs to be lowered.

That won't make sence, then the ATi card still performs better. If NVIDIA really want to do something, they should lower the prices of both 8800GTS cards.
And then I don't mean 10 euro, but much more.

Get one while you can

R600 based Radeon HD 2900PRO and 2900GT cards are going to be very limited product. ATI and all of its partners decided not to ship the review samples simply because this product has a rough two months to live until the replacement part arrives.

RV670 is just around the corner and it should be ready for November launch and this chip is definitely a better choice for a mainstream card as it will be smaller and cooler.

The HD 2900PRO sounds like a great card for not so much money but it doesn't looks its really available at many places.

Yep. $380 card for $270. Too bad they wont have many of them. If anyone is planning on getting one of these cards they better get it now.

There are a lot of those cards in stock here, so I don't know about that.

They are clearing what they have. It was only expected to sell for 2 months due to the RV670 and production cost.

QFT

Shader resolve AA and VLIW sink this product as well, as expected. I think this will be ATi's most recent example of a "FX5800" generation- there just isn't much they can do better than their competition.

You've got to wonder what they were thinking when they made this. They say it's all geared toward "longevity" and "DX10" and yet DX10 is where it gets smacked down the worst and usually doesn't even offer playable frames.

I dont know how that guy was testing it but the numbers are not right. I got better number in Battlefield2, and Stalker, with my old e4300 @ 3.0 I dont have the other games.

Guru3Ds number look right to me, because they match other websites:

Guru3d get 63fps at 16X12 4X16X.

Firing Squad gets 64-65fps at the same setting.

Is it possible you ran a different benchmark than Guru3d? I don't remember if those two had a built in or not, and I noticed the Stalker scores were much lower at FS.

Both games don't have a built in benchmark. Comparisons of what you get to what they get is difficult.
