Hi, I just switched from my old "manli tnt2 pro" card to some "Prolink Geforce4 mx440" and I can't play OpenGL games (tried RTCW, Cube) anymore. Usually it works for a few minutes (2-3), but than completely freezes the system.
I tried everything (at least that I know of) from FAQ's and README's like switching between agpgart, nvagp, even disabling agp completely.
Tried the "NoRenderAccel" option. Tried disabling local APIC in the kernel.
Tried 3123 and 4349 drivers. Nothing worked.
I have ECS K7S5AL mb, SB Live (could it be hw conflict?), Slackware 8.1, Xfree 4.2.0.
Is there a solution or is it just that I have to choose between the cool cursor shading on gf4 and GL games on my old tnt2 but can't have both with the gf4?
(Windows games seem to work just fine, so I don't expect it to be caused by overheating..)
