Nvideo 440mx and Mandrake 9.0

We have a new machine that I have installed Mandrake 9.0. Everything appears to install correctly but when I do a startx it hangs the machine. Help!!

video card = MX440 8x AGP
driver version - 1.0-4349
dist - Mandrake 9.0
video bios revision - don't know can't start up X
processor - AMD-XP-2800
motherboard - KT 400

The drivers appear to install correctly. Any help is greatly appreciated.

You'll need to disable AGP for now - we'll have a much better workaround available sometime later today.

For now, add Option "NvAgp" "0" to the Device section of your XF86Config file.
