I'd never OC'd anything before this year. I spend months reading up on the components I had, reviews, forums, anything. The last 200 points to get me over 14000 took some real fine tuning, but I got there :D

So potentially I should be able to get wayyyyyyy over 14,000 with a E6420 @ 3.7ghz, 2gb @ 1300mhz (for bench purposes) and a heavily overclocked GTX with HR-03

The main thing that helped for me was dropping to an 8x multiplier which allowed a much higher FSB. I could have got it even faster with another 680i mobo as the Striker has a FSB strap at 420mhz. Also I aint bothered going too high with the RAM as the bandwidth dropped off over about 880mhz, this way I can stick with it in 'Sync Mode' too.
