Hello

I am running Suse 8.1 with XFree 4.3.0 upgrade from suse and the 4349 drivers. My specs:
Geforce 488 Go 64MB DDR on a
Medion 6100 Laptop (2.6Ghz P4)

Every thing seems to run ok with the "nv" driver specified in my XF86Config. I can config everything with the Sax2 tool.

However, choosing the 3D "nvidia" driver and loading "glx" testing the configuration in Sax2 returns:

(EE) Screen(s) found, but none have a usable configuration.

If I edit the files by hand and "startx" as a user the machine hangs. Hardcore reset is required :<

I already tried following:
- fooled around with all bios settings (there is some post indicating bios may cause this error). No luck.

Attached the log file, hope this is adequate.

It turned out that the NvAGP default setting (3 according to driver README) was the problem.
I varied NvAGP and found that
0 (no AGP)
1 (Nvidia AGP)
worked fine, whereas
2 (AGPGart)
3 (use any AGP)
caused the crash.

This is not clear if you look at the log files. Anyway, happy 3D-ing!

AGP is very driver sensitive. I'm glad it's working for you now!
