My situation is like this. Currently I can get the old G15 for a special price of R585 when it launched it was R850. Now I know the new G15 will be released soon.

So the question is wait for the new one and hope it isn't the same type of pricing as when the original launched or buy the old one?

thats what im wondering

the updated G15 is out some time in october priced $99 USD

im not sure about the orange illumination though, and prefer the blue ont he current G15, but the updated G15s display looks superior and the length is shorter

if you plan on using Vista, and play Fear, don't get either one.

I use Vista but I generally don't play fps games like fear more rpg and football games for me.

But from those links it seems the G15 is a bad option any other suggestions then for a gaming keyboard??

i use a logitech G7 mouse and a Saitek eclipse kb :o

i liked the G15 for the screen ah well.

I want to get another KB with lighting, what about these-

Razer Tarantula or Microsoft Reclusa

If you don't care about the LCD, I've heard the G11 is pretty good.

Isn't the G11 exactly the same as G15 just without the screen?? It would have the same issues I think.

Maybe the screen portion of the drivers is the problem?

It may even just come down to whether or not you even want Macros or not as a user :D.

My friend Mike has been using a Saitek for a while, and it's worked like a champ for him.

Get the Saitek Eclipse II then. It has three colour lighting, and volume control, and the backlight level can be adjusted with a knob this time... and yeah, it's brighter Eclipse I.

but i have read it is no brighter than the original like i have and that it also doesnt keep the color setting after a reboot and that the paint on the keys rub off after a while:(

Maybe thatís my problem; I haven't tried loving my keyboard yet. So what do you do? Long walks on beach? Followed by romantic dinner? Later go upstairs?

I agree. I didn't like it at first but I am warmign up to it. I don't think I could justify spending $100 on a keyboard though.

Same here, I once paid $250 for a Logitech DiNovo keyboard when they first came out, boy was I an idiot. Can't justify that kinda spending anymore.

I had your issues in mind when I fired up FEAR not long ago on Vista 64bit with Alchemy. It plays flawlessly for me. I was kinda hoping it would mess up so I could help ya with some troubleshooting. :(

You have to do all that. If you don't, it will screw up with FEAR.

<me> hugs keyboard again.

i don't think its caused by alchemy, g15 and its HIDs are to blame
