Talk about a turn of events..
This past sunday i was building my pc into my new thermaltake Xaser III V1000+ (black) case, it all went peachy until it came to the moment of power on. (my motherboard tells you whats wrong with itself) I heard "System failed CPU test" CRRRRAAAAAP!
Burned out the processor?! But how the thing was only just on.. So i managed to get today off to take the thing to the shop i bought the processor from. Theyre cool enough to replace it for free.
Now the shocking part the explanation. Any of you who have seen reviews of this case might know about the hardcano which tells you the temp of the processor from a sensor you stick to the bottom of the cpu (can you spot what it was yet...).
The guys up at CCL were in shock, it actually tells you to do that in the manual. But apperentley raising the chip allows a crap load of heat to get to the thing.
So there goes my old cpu, but all it cost me was a bit of information and communicaiton hinderance. Ahh well, lesson
don't attach temperature monitors to the bottom of ur cpu!
