Hello friends,

The Specs:

CPU A3700+ running at 2,8GHz
Mobo Asrock 939 Dual Sata2 (uli chipset, latest 2.20 drivers)
GF7900GTO (91.47 drivers)
Ram 1GB Cl2,5
SB Live! (windows drivers)
some USB controllers
2 HDD's, 1st Seagate 320GB Sata2, 2nd Samsung 80GB IDE
DVD LG GSA-4167B
Tagan U15 430W
Windows XP Pro SP2

The Problem:

I've read some thread's about known Alt-Tab big performance boost, but it was generaly related to memory leak in gf 8 series cards.
My problem is similar but i have very low fps from begining of the game. This problem generaly touches only one game, it is rFactor (racing game). For some time I tought it was a low power CPU problem until I discover big performance boost after Alt-Tab to desktop and get back to game, here is example:

1) 21 fps - http://files.simracing.pl/temp/kipila/low_fps.PNG

alt - tab to desktop and back to rFactor

2) 105 fps http://files.simracing.pl/temp/kipila/high_fps.PNG

It happend only once or twice and this trick is not working any more.
I don't have any performance problems in other games, they are just flying :)
I've checked 3dMark 2006 and it results are ok - about 5500 poits. Also I've reinstalled windows and the game, I installed this soft on another phisical disk, changed nvidia drivers to 163.71, run bios at it's deafult setup. Temperaturs of CPU at stress don't reach 50*, GPU is also below 50*.

Do you guys have any expirience with this kind od problems? Any advice are welcome, because my ideas to solve it has finished :(

Best regards,
Kipila
