Lets finish my OC

I could use some help and sugestions for the rest of my OC setup. Ihave managed to get myCPU at a steady stable clock of 3.4GHz and I have been running my ram at 378MHz at a 1:1 ratio and I would like to get things moving a bit more to help my blazing CPU. My ram simply wont go any faster then 400MHz (DDR2 6400) so I was thinking about some 1066 instead.


Whats your opinion on this? Would it be worth the upgrade or would I not see any performance improvements from pushing my FSB multiplier?

So faster memory wont help because I don't have a bottle neck yet at a 1:1 ratio?

Your bottleneck only truly hits once you hit 3.6Ghz, which will place your FSB @ 400x9 and your ram @ 800mhz. If you wish to go higher than that, you should get some faster ram.

I believe you can always look at it as such.

The FSB x 2 = The Frequency of your Memory, so make sure your rated memory frequency is within the range of what you're OCing.

Ex. 500 x 2 = 1000MHz rated memory (PC-6400 will now be OCing)
Ex2. 400 x 2 = 800MHz rated memory (PC-6400 will be fine)
Ex3. 378 x 2 = 756 MHz rated memory (PC-6400 will be fine with room still).

The FSB x Multiplier = CPU Speed

Ex. 500 x 7 = 3.5GHz CPU Speed
Ex2. 400 x 9 = 3.6GHz CPU Speed
Ex3. 378 x 9 = ~3.4GHz CPU Speed

This is all from what I understand so far. If there needs to be some modification to this, please let me know.
