I'm trading my Macbook Pro to my sister for her desktop. She needs a laptop as she can't travel with her desktop. The duties of a good brother.. /sigh

Far as I can tell, she has an as yet unknown to me Micro ATX motherboard thats socket AM2 with a single core Athlon 64 3800, 1GB of ram and a 7600GT. My question is, what would be the bigger bottle neck, the video card or the CPU? And what would you suggest I replace or upgrade on a fairly limited budget?

No question.....if you plan to use it for games, first and foremost get the vid upgraded

That's similar to my work PC.

The CPU is the first thing I would go with, then video, then memory.

It is so freakin slow with single core.

I would grab

PSU = 550w+
CPU AM2 X2 5600+ (2.8Ghzx2)
Ram: 2GB
8800GTX or wait for the nwe 8800GTS with 112sp it will be like 90% of the the GTX and less money
