Now all you need to do is to get it up to around 3.2 :afro2:

I'll shoot for 9x333 then go from there. My temps look like I should do pretty good. I though these things ran hotter. A lot of people complaining that they run too hot.

No problem... also... itís the old B3 stepping that ran hotter, the G0's run a little cooler I believe and they have a higher threashold temp. G0's = OC goodness. 9 x 333 is probably a very good spot to start. Unless you got a real dud you are pretty much guaranteed to have stability at that setting. Go from there and enjoy. I have found 3.1Ghz ~ 3.2Ghz to be a perfect balance of temps, speed and voltage. Beyond that it will depend on your cooler, CPU and how far you feel you need to push it! :)

Some people at the HKEPC forums can't OC the G0 chip past 2.7ghz on air no matter what they do. Bad luck?

The first G0 I received would not OC well....wouldn't run stable at even 3.0. I RMA'd it and got this one...which ain't doing to bad once I got its heat under control ;)

Why? :p
:spank:

ok i'll say this only once.
1) I just want to match my previous E6700's speed which is 2.66Ghz to see in which games the quad shines. for other games i'll just settle for same performance.
2) My room temp is hot & i'm using only standard cooling.
3) I prefer system stability over anything else. i want to enjoy my gaming time! no hang ups , BSOD's & whatnot.
4) Its a B3 not G0 :|
5) "Game first , Overclock later" .. thats what am gonna do

Didn't make an announcement or anything but I finally built a home PC early Sept after using my work laptop at home for 9 months.

Not a bad overclock for a B3 stepping, it really feels like it can do more but 3.2ghz is fine. Using a CNPS9500 which was a pain to install.

Just installed the MSI Diamond and Q6600! I can tell a pretty nice little difference in the UT3 demo so far. Going to try a few more games before I hit the bed.

I just hitched a ride on the quad bandwagon myself . . . got it installed today with a TR Ultra-120 Extreme. I have to admit, the install was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be. right now @ stock speeds its idling at 32C. I'm gonna let the AS5 settle for tonight, then tomorrow I'm gonna take the speed up. I'm shooting for 3.2GHz, about the same I had my E6600 clocked at. Wish me luck :D
