Latest Cpuz fluctuates readings

I recently changed M/B from 680i to Abit 35pro. I've been doing some o/cing so I d/l latest version of cpuz. I o/ced in the bios so I got it up to 3.4 mHz @1.4 volts with a multiplier of 10. Why does cpuz fluctuate my core speed & the multiplier from 1980 (core speed) @ x6, to 3400 @ x10 (what it suppose to be.)

I've looked in the manual, nothing about speedstep. Looked in the bios and nothing there. Could it be called something else?

I thought SpeedStep was only available in Dell PC's? Before you go on and do something deeper, try redownloading CPU-Z. Start with basic troubleshooting.

Ok, Found speedstep, Its called EIST Function. Disabled it, but cpuz still fluctuates. Anything else I missed?

Problem Solved:
In bios you have to disable C1E Function also

But won't speedstep lower your CPU speed only when you are not need it, and turn it back up to the max you oced it to, when you run some heavy programs or games?

Or does this not work well if you OC the CPU? If this is the case, any idea of an alternative, maybe a program? In order to save power.

I have Speedstep disabled and still get abnormal readings with versions above 1.39. Haven't tried disabling C1E function in the bios yet.

To disable on-die power saving features you have to disable C1E and EIST together.

I did, and my 3d mark 05 reading went from 18139 to 19136. Makes me happy!:)
