I think it is all smoke and mirrors again....
look at the 8800.... for nearly 12 months it was said to be a non unified architecture, yet they had engineers working on it for nearly 3 years....
Nvidia actually never said it was or wasnt. Most people simply assumed as such by statements made that left much to interpretation. The rumor sites were the ones spreading the information that the card wasn't a USA. Nvidia simply stated that when a USA made sense, would be when they would do it.
