nView Desktop Manager for Linux?
Under WinXP I use a "nView Desktop Manager" application to configuration many different settings (the ones I'm most intrested in are the Window-control settings, as in where new windows appear, aka "Open windows on:"). It really gets my dual-display window openings to be much less annoying.
I have yet to see such a thing in my Debian-Linux install. I do have a /usr/bin/nvidia-settings app, but it does not offer the above-mentioned settings/options control. Can I get something like "nView Desktop Manager" for Debian/Linux, and if so, where do I get it? |
Re: nView Desktop Manager for Linux?
About every good X11 windowmanager has this functionality, including KDEs kwin (window rules in kcontrol), fluxbox (apps file), compiz-fusion (window rules plugin) and so on. For window managers with almost no functionality, such as Gnomes metacity, there is the app devilspie.
