OpenGL apps switch off the PC in Ubuntu 7.10

I've got 7600 nVidia card running on Ubuntu. After upgrade from 7.04 to 7.10 my PC started to switch off every time a 3d application is running. It seems that i's consume 100% of CPU. Even glxgears does it. Has anyone encountered a similar problem? Any ideas how to fix it?

What is the power rating on your power supply? Do you have a utility that can measure the voltages on the various power rails?

It's 550W. Can I check the voltage with lm-sensors?
