GeForce Go 6200 in VMWare

1 Attachment(s)
I am VERY new to linux and i have some questions. I'm trying to install a display adapter running Back Track 2 in VMWare 6.0. I tried the 100.## drivers and is states its not recognizing the display adaptor, even though its listed in the compatibility guide. However, when i try the 71.# it recognizes, but can't install.

Is this an issue with the software running in VMWare? Its all on a Vaio FS660/W laptop.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated, and like i said, im very new to linux, but im a quick learner!

Thanks in advance.

VMWare doesn't emulate an NVIDIA GPU. You'll have to install the video drivers for the emulated device, which I believe come with VMWare itself.

True, there is an "install vmware tools" option in the menu that will mount an ISO image that is part of the distribution, and that contains the necessary drivers for virtual hardware.
Read about it in the vmware documentation.
