Legacy drivers on FreeBSD 7.x?

Will drivers for old cards(GF4 and older) be adapted to FreeBSD 7.x?

I've installed driver from port nvidia-driver-96xx, but it doesn't work
Code:

cat /dev | grep nv
writes nothing...
and X does not starts - no device nvidiactl

Please make sure the ACPI video driver doesn't attach to the GPU before the NVIDIA FreeBSD graphics driver has a chance to. FreeBSD 7.0-RELEASE will be officially supported some time after its release.

Which means that you need to put nvidia_load="YES" to /boot/loader.conf :) (sorry if that's obvious).

Does this mean that the package "compat5x-i386-5.4.0.8_9" isn't needed after the release of the driver that supports the 7 release?
