WoW Problem, Anyone?

Ok, I changed comuter recently, to what I got on my sig. My internet has been working perfectly on everything since I started it, it has automatic IPS and DNS which I don't like but I don't know what to put on them to set them.

Anyways, problem I'm having since I formatted my computer to this new one is, whenever I Buy items, sell items, complete quests, pick up things from mail box (mostly gold, I've noticed when I complete quests that don't give gold I don't get the problem as much), my game gets HUGE lag spikes.

They cause my game to pretty much freeze for about 10-20 seconds, and even cause my MSN or complete internet to stop working until WoW works again.

I'm hoping someone here knows how to fix this, I've gone to WoW.com forums and alot of people seem to have this problem but I don't see a fix or anything.

Thanks

I'm sorry to inform you of this but you computer has a virus known as the Vista virus. Format your hard drive and install Window's fix for this. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/h...a&mg_id=20391b
Ignore the Vista "ads" on the page. They are blind links to get you to catch the Vista virus again.

This isn't a virus... I had this problem back in WIndows XP until I changed my DSL modem.

Thanks for the help, but I'm not going to format my computer for something that causes WoW to lag every time I turn in a quest.

I've actually loved it really, I've had 0 errors or problems in games or anything. I know this problem in WoW is common because I had it back in Windows XP when I used to have shared connection, Then when I got my own one it went away. But now It's back, no idea why.

Alot of people on the WoW forums also posting about it, so yea this whole "Vista Virus" thing is dumb.

Plus, Service Pack 1 is out in like a week, lots of problems fixed!

lol ignore the haters... Vista is fine..

Anyway try deleting the account folder in your WTF folder within the WOW directory.

It will make u have to re do your settings but I think it may fix your issues.

Also run the blizz repair before you relog back in.

If you are running any mods try disabling them first. Sounds like a problem I had when I was running a mod. Disabling the mod completely fixed it.

This might also sound strange but make sure you are running the most recent version of your video card drivers from www.nvidia.com/drivers. I have seen all kinds of odd WoW problems when running outdated VC drivers.

Vista is ok. I just like to joke about it.

Is your system blocked behind a firewall? Are the correct ports open or forwarded?

Disable all your mods as Zeta mentioned and see if the problem occurs. Then re-enable half of them and see if it's ok. Narrow it down from there with half of the half each time until you isolate the problem.

Make sure nothing is running in the background while running WoW, especially Bittorrent.

Have you cleaned up and defragged your hard drive since WoW has been installed?
