Shooting down helicopters...

Anyone notice any wierdness once the wreckage hits the ground. I had the prop spin and flip out on the ground and various wreckage convulsing on the ground for several minutes. I had left the area and it was little moving. LOL.

Yup, happens quite a bit. Nothing like a heli crashing near you. Banging and clanging around for a couple minutes drowning out all other sounds in the area.

I shot down two choppers last play through, even though the encounters were a long time apart, both choppers crashed in exactly the same place, so precisely that the wreckage almost perfectly overlapped.

Another interesting thing, the gunship thing in Half Life 2 is programmed to always crash near the player if possible, for more dramatic and exciting game play.

yep, i noticed that.
also they said in the commentary they try to make all the exciting scenes happen while the player is in the area (in a very wide and big map like final battle in HL2 Epi.2)
