ViN86's New Build Thread w/ Photos

Well, got my rig up and going last weekend, so I thought I would share some pics for you all. Enjoy :D

Here's my old rig. the fan on the left is actually mounted next to my vid card.

Ewww, dusty. Who the hell takes care of this thing?! LOL

Yea, I let her go too long without taking the compressed air to her. Probably because I was anticipating my new C2D machine. Notice how sparkly clean I keep my 8800GT though, hahaha.

Yikes, clean that **** out. :barf:

Say hello to my DFI P35, OCZ Titanium 4GB DDR2-800, 120mm Panaflo, Thermalright eXtreme 120, and my C2D E8400. (nana2)

Meet the board and the heatsink and hardware.

The board and heatsink meet each other and immediately get intim8 (pun intended) :naughty:

I wanted to place the heatsink parallel to the exhaust fan, but the thing wouldn't fit in the case! LOL It fit the motherboard, but the case was too small. So, I got it in perpendicular, but it's ok, because I drilled holes for the PSU to take in air earlier, so the air going through the heatsink feeds to the PSU. I was pretty lucky haha.

zOMG three way action.

After this I don't have any build photos. I ran into a snag. My board wouldn't post with my E8400 installed. So, I spent some time on (formerly) DFI-Street and they told me to update the BIOS (my board shipped with the stock BIOS, booo). So, I ripped apart my mom's eMachine computer and stole the LGA775 Pentium 4 and update the BIOS with that hahaha. I then installed my E8400 and voila, she posted! After installing Vista x64, she was good to go. :D

Here's my setup in my room at school.

I know, I know, I need some cable management under my desk haha.

... and last but certainly not least, here she is in all her glory. She gets along very well with my 360. lol

Well, hope you enjoyed the pics. Let me know what you guys think. :)

congrats, but i don't like that board, no offense.

only PCI-E 4x and you can't use it after you install a good video card.

i went with the DFI P35 because it's notorious for high overclocks and i am not interested in SLi. SLi would require money for another card and a new PSU. plus id need a 780i. nah, no thx lol.

also, i am a big fan of DFI. they use all top of the line Japanese capacitors. also, i like the passively cooled NB and SB since my mobo is inverted and heatpipes wouldnt do anything lol. im a big believer in a rock stable mobo and mid-line CPU/RAM that you can OC and beat the hell out of haha.

well i took the pics after i moved it back to school. i didnt want to move my 360 out of the way, so i left it in heh.

thx guys, im loving it. my temps are ridiculous. im probably only going to overclock it to 3.6GHz for the time being. over the summer i want to get some faster RAM, so ill shoot for 4+ GHz then. :D

Nice Vin! Post your full impressions of that board would you? I'm a DFI fan myself and am looking to upgrade soon.
