I'm running mine at 3.6 (400x9) now. 1.28V vcore idle and 1.23V load. 4.0 (400x10)requires 1.40+ vcore (max vcore is 1.3625V according to Intel) in BIOS. Temps are good but I'm worried about the high vcore so I dropped it to 3.6. Didn't notice any performance difference in games running at 4.0 and 3.6.

It takes 1.42 to hit 4GHz, what are safe load temps for this CPU? I think the 780i runs a little hot.

64.5C according to Intel. That is the Tcase temperature btw, not actual core temps.

Yeah, the 780i runs hot, active cooling on the north bridge is recommended.

My temps seem a little high compared to others, I might try the MSI board http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...5&postcount=17, my power led is still not working after three boards :(

I'm happy with those values on air cooling ;)

Enjoy your new CPU Lee ;)

Thanks, I think I'm still gonna try the MSI 780i and see if it cools Things down a little ;)
