how to interprete the result of gtkperf??
 
AMD 3600+ 3G RAM+ 8500GT+Ubuntu Hardy:

just run gtkperf and get some results, is it good or not? especially the last one:

It is not bad, but using compiz better results should
be possible, as this is with a nvs140 (quadro mobile):

But, as you see from the gtkperf homepage,
this hardly depends on

- X Settings
- GTK Engine used

and on nvidia specific settings.

at least initialpixmapplacement settings are probably not good for you.
