failure to load libnvidia-tls.so.1
I've been working with an end user remotely that can no longer start his X-server. This started after updating from RHEL 4u5 (2.6.9-55) to 4.7 (2.6.9-78). After this update, as necessary he attempted to install the Nvidia driver for his Quadro NVS 285 (Dell 390 workstation). The install reported completed correctly, but X would not start, with errors regarding failing to start glx. He then attempted installing Dell's dkms nvidia driver package. This also completed without error, and also failed to start glx.
Reviewing his xorg.conf we found that he had an extra video card entry (for an nvs 50 pci) trying to load the 'nv' driver. We removed this entry, and now the error reports which file is returning 'unresolved symbols' as /usr/lib64/tls/libnvidia-tls.so.1. Thinking this may be related to the two different versions that had been installed, we checked the linking, and it does report correctly as linked with the libnvidia-tls.so.169.07 that is used with the dkms driver.
I've attached the install log, error log, and bug report.
here is the content of the error before editing xorg:

any help would be appreciated. to help kill time, I'm haveing the user rebuild xorg.conf
update: rebuilding xorg.conf did not change results, or error. Did change entry in xorg.conf to an "unknown" boardtype...
VendorName "nVidia Corporation"
BoardName "Unknown Board"
