Re: forcedeth driver for debian
Unless you're using a very old kernel, support for forcedeth has been included for a long time.

Re: forcedeth driver for debian
i'am using the latest debian stable release etch. this is 2.6.18. I did the installation from the net based installation netinst.
so maybe i have to install some additional package?

thank you

Re: forcedeth driver for debian
I'm not familiar with debian, but you need to build support for it in your kernel (under device drivers -> networking -> 10/100Mb) either built in or as a module. You might have better luck asking on debian forums.

Re: forcedeth driver for debian
You should not have to do a thing. Forcedeth is built in to the default kernel. If your network is not working then something is probably wrong with your hardware.

Re: forcedeth driver for debian

The driver you need is already in the stock Debian kernel, in unstable, testing and stable, you don't need to compile anything extra.
