IA32 = all 32bit processors amd or intel
IA64 = intel 64 bit
AMD= AMD 64bit (opteron)

Yes. In addition, the IA64 is sometimes called the Itanium (or the Unobtanium, by people that don't like Intel... ;)).

IA32 is what you need to use, unless you've sunken big-bucks into your system on the processor alone.

Here are some 32-bit CPUs (IA32 = Intel's 32-bit architecture) to help clarify.
AMD:
K5
K6 / K6-2 / K6-3
Duron
Athlon or "K7"
Athlon MP
Athlon XP
Athlon "Thunderbird"

Intel:
Celeron
Pentium / Pentium 2 / Pentium 3 / Pentium 4
Xeon

VIA:
Cyrix

Transmeta:
Crusoe

It's a pretty safe assumption that you're not running an AMD Opteron (Very new CPU that can do both 64-bit and 32-bit modes). If there's any doubt, you can open up a console and type cat /proc/cpuinfo to get information on your processor. Look for the model name.
