RH9+Nvidia4363=segment violation

Sorry for my poor english.
If I install Nvidia drivers then Xmms and openoffice donĀ“t run and show that message "segment violation" ( "violacion de segmento" in spanish) in the terminal window.
However, other apllications run fine.
Xmms and open office run fine uninstalling the drivers, and openoffice runs just changing nivia for Nv in the display selection, even without restart the machine.
Any idea?
Thanks

This has been posted quite a few times (xmms and openoffice segfaulting, that is). :)

The fix, though it isn't all that obvious that it applies to these programs, is in the nVidia README:

Quote:

Q: Some OpenGL applications (like Quake3 Arena) crash when I start them
on Red Hat Linux 9.

A: Some versions of the glibc package shipped by Red Hat that support
TLS do not properly handle using dlopen() to access shared libraries
which utilize some TLS models. This problem is exhibited, for example,
when Quake3 Area dlopen()'s NVIDIA's libGL library. Please obtain
at least glibc-2.3.2-11.9 which is available as an update from Red Hat.
See if you've installed the updated C library from RedHat. If you haven't, install it and rerun the nVidia installer (with the old library, it is possible that it installed the wrong nVidia libraries, so rerun it to rerun the detection stuff).
