STRANGE ROUTER HAPPENINGS ,HELP PLEASE

You open FF and it tries to access 192.168.0.1 and wont open any web pages,
Any ideas,

She called me at work asking what to do , I said just reset router, delete the network and start again with new passwords and ssid, This went down well...

So you're connected via wireless to the router? Well if you're not connected to it (ie enter password and stuff) you won't be able to get to 192.168.0.1. Best bet is to connect with a cable temporarily, goto 192.168.0.1, setup wireless properly, then connect via wireless.

Oh wait....what exactly is your question? Why FF won't open any pages? Or how to fix the router?

The solution to both problems is the same I think.

You can connect wirelessly to the router and change the config (I think, I was told about it over the phone) but no internets.

I dont know how much more properly it can be configured ,Was working fine before.

They wouldnt have changed any router settings.

But the fact that FF tries to open 192.168.0.1 without any promting is strange to me ,Why is it doing this?

It's remembering the last page opened? FF does this if you want it too.

Is your homepage set to 192.168.0.1? Or like crainger mentioned, you can setup FF to open the page you had open last.

Yes you can connect wirelessly to router to change config IF THE WIRELESS NETWORK IS ALREADY SETUP. Since you told whoever you're fixing this for to reset their router, all the SSID info will be reset. So are they connecting to the default SSID for the router? or still trying to connect to the old one from before they reset it?

This is my GF's mothers laptop I'm talking about
My GF asked me what to do and I said just press the reset and set up the netwaork again ,she was like "Tell me what to do then!!" and I was like ????? you want me to talk you through setting up a wireless network while I'm standing in my labcoat in a hallway with my boss walking around??? And she's was like "So all of a sudden you dont know how to do it" and hangs up!!! Ignorant ****.

Come to think of it their wired PC was doing the same thing once but it stopped doing it.

They never go to 192.168.0.1 ,No reason to so I dont think FF is remembering the last page visited.

I think I'll have to actually look at it myself

Oh.

Do you really speak to your gf like that?

Was kinda rude she hung up on you. Did you forget to ask what she was wearing?
