Call of duty 4 issues

hi. I'm new here and a little desperate to sort this issue out.

Essentially, I purchased COD4 for my pc expecting it to perform well.

To my surprise, the game doesn't even run properly on the lowest graphic settings.

I've contacted BFG in regards to the issue and they couldn't help.
I've tried to rollback to previous Nvidia drivers without any luck.

My system information:

Foxcon 45gmx motherboard
Intel Duocore 2.2ghz
BFG GTX 260 OC 896mb
2GB of ram
Windows Vista

Note: I'm running this on a High Def tv. Not sure if that might have somethign to do with it.

Thanks in advance.

Your CPU could be the bottleneck....

Have you tried using a standard pc monitor to play cod4 ?

If its not running properly even on low settings then I doubt its a CPU bottleneck. Moreover COD engine is not that demanding.

Your other games work fine? Tried everything on default to see if its maybe an outside problem like maybe your sound card?

I play a lot of other games.
Medal of Honor Airborne
Devil May Cry 4
Conflict Denied Ops
The list goes on...
I'm a First person shooter addict.

I don't understand why all those games run so great on MAX quality...absolutely flawless...yet COD doesn't play well even on the most minimal setting.

My sound sound card is integrated. I'll try to disable it in the meantime to see if I get any results. I'll let you know what happens.

ok so now the game won't even start because the sound card isn't active.

Have you patched the game yet?
