Problems With GF4 TI 4200 (8x AGP)

Hello!

I'm using the latest drivers from nvidia on Red Hat 9.0 with a GF4 TI4200 (8x AGP)

Everything works great it 800 x 600 but when I try to use 1280 x 1024 the screen just goes black and then returns me to the login prompt.

here's the xfree log;

Can you post a failing log? (ie: try 1280x1024 and post that log)

Hello,

The stangest thing happaned, I set the screen res to 1280x1024 to give you a fail log. Then X started perfectly!

I havn't changed anything or installed anything new.

But thanks for the help anyway!!!

Dr0Zz 06-07-03 03:21 PM

well if you look in that log, 800x600 is the highest validate resolution..although i may be wrong, i personally don't think that the nvidia drivers are the problem, i think it maybe due to how you have your monitor setup...could you have wrong settings or probed wrong monitor or something.

RobH 06-08-03 05:32 PM

Hello!

Come to think of it, I did play with my monitor setup, but it made no difference. The only difference is I rebooted and it worked, so that certenly sounds like it!

Cheers for all the help!
Rob.
