"nvidia-settings -l" fails to enable twinview with errors "Invalid display device"
Hello! I am trying to load my saved ~/.nvidia-settings-rc at login (writing to xorg.conf isn't a solution since this is a multi-user machine), but running "nvidia-settings -l" generates:
michael@NinaMyers:~$ nvidia-settings -l
ERROR: Invalid display device CRT-0 specified on line 46 of configuration file
'/home/michael/.nvidia-settings-rc' (the currently enabled display
devices are DFP-0 on NinaMyers:0.0).
ERROR: The attribute 'XVideoSyncToDisplay' specified on line 53 of
configuration file '/home/michael/.nvidia-settings-rc' cannot be
assigned the value of CRT-0 (the currently enabled display devices are
DFP-0 on NinaMyers:0.0).
The only thing I am trying to accomplish is enabling a second monitor that is plugged in via twinview. I am guessing it is having troubles because the secondary monitor isn't enabled, but of course that is what I am trying to do! Currently every time I log in I have to manually run nvidia-settings and enable the second monitor with twinview, which I am trying to avoid.
Thanks for any tips!

Hi there, changing twinview configuration is not possible from the command-line using nvidia-settings. You can do it however using disper: http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/show...00&postcount=1 . After that, you can run "nvidia-settings -l" to apply special settings.
