Fixing the PowerMizer performance level

Hi,

I'm using a Quadro NVS 140M under Ubuntu 9.04.
I noticed that 3D games get particularly slow after playing for about 4 minutes. I investigated it, and it seems to be because the powermizer is lowering its performance level.
I have already tried the solutions described here and here, but none of it seems to work. The powermizer is still lowering my performance level after some time.

Any ideas? Thanks a lot in advance :)

Hello,

it might be that the GPU gets too hot or that there is a different issue causing this.

Please read the sticky on how to report bugs, create a bug report accordingly and upload it.

It indeed seems to be the temperature. Now checking if I can let those fans blow a little harder ;)
Thanks a lot for the suggestion :)

This problem has been around for years and nvidia doesn't really want to solve it. That's a bit sad.

What's your slowdown threshold? (run nvidia-settings and go to Thermal Monitor).

It says 0C, so I guess it hasn't got a software-configured slowdown treshold. It probably just slows itself down on the hardware side when overheating...
