Command & Conquer 4 Development Confirmed By EA UK

So many leaks these days...
Quote:

Last month a survey revealed what sounded like the first details onf a new Command & conquer game, but EA declined to comment any further. How it seems the rumor gained more credence as EA UK twittered "EA Los Angeles Announces Development of Command & Conquer 4," although the provided link does not exist (yet?). Whether this is a leak, typo, somebody jumping the gun too early, or somehow a hack is not clear at this point, with several of the key EA personal attending an event in New York.

It's not that big of a leak. I received a link to take the survey as well. It seemed to play strongly on the fact that it would have RPG features, which I'm not really crazy about.

Command and Conquer 3 was average, and RA3 was crap. It's not like they can screw up the game more... They've already done that. I wish they'd just take the time to replay the original CnC game and RA1. That's how they're supposed to make this game. And I wish they'll drop the obligatory co-op mode RA3 had. Pure crap IMO...

I've barely played the copy of C&C3 that I pre-ordered.

I know so little about the back story of the game that I had a hard time being interested in it. I always just played skirmish battles in most C&C games, other than Generals. The USA and GLA campaigns in that game kicked ass.

This news is no surprise actually. There's no way they'd stop @ 3.

The story went downhill after CnC 1. They introduced Aliens and stuff... :headexplode:

I need to find a cheap copy of CC3. I played it on the 360 and thought it would be a whole lot better on the PC.

C&C3 is MUCH better than RA3.

GS: Can we expect to see the game launch simultaneously for both the PC and consoles? What lessons has the team learned from the development of previous games that is being applied here?

SB: While we are very proud of the work done [for] console versions of our previous titles, we are developing Command & Conquer 4 exclusively for the PC. Given the ambitious scope and significantly reworked infrastructure of this game, it felt like the right approach to focus purely on our core platform and make sure we get everything right.
