GTS 250 - no adaptive clocking available
1 Attachment(s)
I just bought a new graphic card, Asus GTS 250 with 512 MB RAM onboard and Glaciator fansink. The problem is, it runs at full clock speed all the time, the Powermizer option shows only level 0 (740/1100 MHz). I have read, that GTS 250 cards have built-in 2D mode as a new feature. Is this Asus an exception or all GTS 250 cards are affected? Is it possible to see support for 2D mode with lower clock speed in upcoming versions of NVIDIA binary drivers? I have driver 190.42 installed. For now it seems I have to use an external fan controller, like Zalman FanMate, to lower down the noise.

PowerMizer support depends on the GPU BIOS. If your vendor didn't implement it, it will not be supported by the drivers.
