overscan with 190.42 lost at next boot

Hello,

I was about to throw away my linux box when I discovered here that 190.42 driver has now a slider for overscan : great !

So I installed new drivers, run nvidia-settings, move the slider, saved the configuration.
Fine.

But after reboot, overscan does not applied !

If I run nvidia-settings again, the overscan applied suddenly.
So the configuration is stored somewhere.

How to make it apply at boot time ?

(I am running ubuntu jaunty)

Hi JP,

The nvidia-settings program supports the '-l' option to do exactly this. If you run 'nvidia-settings -l', it will silently load the configuration that's saved in your .nvidia-settings-rc file, and exit.

If you add 'nvidia-settings -l' to your .xinitrc file, it will happen automatically.

Hope that helps,

-Mark

Thanks a lot.

As in ubuntu the .xinitrc is not used, I added to startup programs.
