Impossible to change HDMI refresh rate.

As per the subject, no matter the refresh rate I adjust with nvidia-settings (it offers auto, 60, 50, 30 and 24), the actual refresh rate is fixed at 59.93 (the tv reports 1080p at 60Hz), leading to noticeable judder when watching broadcast material at 50Hz or films at 24Hz.

Under windows I can correctly set any refresh rate, so both the card and the tv are capable of it.

This is a Quadro FX 770M on an hp 8530w laptop with 190.42.

Try disabling "Force Full GPU Scaling" in the display device section of nvidia-settings.

Mmh, I spoke too soon. While I can now set the refresh rate to 50Hz, xine stutters badly, so I cannot really use it.
Maybe it's because the laptop panel is fixed at 60Hz (and there's no other possible refresh rate).
