Things don't respond on X Server switching.

I can usually switch between running X Server without a problem, but recently on occasion the screen has just gone black and accepted no more input. I can't switch to any other VT or X server, and the screen just sits there black. If I have music or something else running on the other X server it continues, so it's not a system-wide crash or hang, but it seems to deactivate all of my input devices because I can't do anything but sit on the black screen until a hard reboot.

I am using a GeForce GTX 285 with 190.53, kernel 2.6.32, and Xorg 1.7.3.902. It's an up-to-date ArchLinux installation.

All I have from this incident is these lines from Xorg.0.log:

(II) Macintosh mouse button emulation: Device reopened after 1 attempts.
(II) UVC Camera (046d:0990): Device reopened after 1 attempts.
(II) Microsoft Natural® Ergonomic Keyboard 4000: Device reopened after 1 attempts.

(II) Logitech USB-PS/2 Optical Mouse: Device reopened after 1 attempts.
(II) Power Button: Device reopened after 1 attempts.

Same here. I have Toshiba A100-906 notebook with GF 7600Go. Oh and i'm also running up-yo-date Arch distribution. I tried 190.53 and 195.30 and there were crashes with both.
