Need a USB BOOT RESCUE "DISK"

My sisters 13yo son has managed to infect his new netbook... (2 guesses how)

Theres no optical drive.

His younger brother has an identical (probably clean) netbook incase that might be useful

I dont think she has an xp rescue disk or partition but I'll make sure first

I dont even know if the bios allow boot from usb but I'm guessing it must?

Do a full backup on the clean netbook and a full restore on the dirty one. Ensure you grab the windows licence key (should be a sticker on the bottom), and enter it on the restored one.

As someone with a WHS http://www.microsoft.com/windows/pro...r/default.mspx
I'd use that to do the backup restore (it is pretty fast), the netbooks should support boot to usb key, check the bios.

she does have XP disks that came with the netbooks, Is there a way to boot via network from the CD?

The bios allow booting from everything.

The problem here is I was on the phone for about 2 hours just to get her to perfrom very simple tasks and she barely managed to download and extract Kasperksy Rescue CD (the intention was to transfer it to her phones SD card and boot from it),
I dont know if I can handle any more of it.

Seriously :headexplode: :headexplode: :headexplode: :headexplode: :headexplode: :headexplode: :headexplode: :headexplode: :headexplode: :headexplode: :headexplode: :headexplode: :headexplode: :headexplode:

Something that would take me 30 seconds takes me 3 hrs to explain to her what to do,
She doesnt hold onto any information regarding computers.

OMG, I hate that.

For some reason because I play computer games, it makes me the "tech-guy" in the family.
Why go to Best Buy, when I have Albo :/
It doesn't work that way.

I want to start charging so bad, but they usually pay me with a cookie. All worth it IMO. Except when you talk on the phone. I had to do that today actually, through Skype, It took about 45 minutes for the person to share their screen with me.
