Laptop/GeForce FX5600Go working with 'nv' driver
Downloading the latest XFree86 development snapshot (220.127.116.11) and rebuilding results in a working 'nv' driver for the GFFX5600Go.
I just verified it works on my Toshiba 5205-S705. This is the open source driver, so I'm not expecting great OpenGL performance, but it looks as if it is faster than the 'vesa' driver I was previously using.
I didn't have to do anything special to get it to work, just unpack and 'make World' followed by 'make install'.
PS - this is on RH9, but I don't see why it wouldn't work on other distributions.
Re: Laptop/GeForce FX5600Go working with 'nv' driver
I didn't have any problemen on istalling RH 8.2. I had problem activating network adaptern, that weren't recognized from system, neither Ethernet on.
I have tried to install Mandrake 9.1, but X server didn't star, even after downloading latest nvidia driver.run.
I am a newbie.
Coulld you give me step by step how installing properly MDK?
Thanks a lot.
