I was wondering why they did that, here I am thinking its the new cards. I thought wait aren't the new nvidia cards suppose to be DX11, and aren't they suppose to be 400 series, rather then 300?

wow renaming...probably to trick customers into getting the 300 series.

The 300 series of low-end and mainstream cards is intended and used for the OEM market only. Nvidia's official statement is that at least one of their bigger OEM partners asked for this rebranding.
The technical specifications are all on their site:

As Iruwen said, they are OEM only. You can't buy a 300 series card.

It's likely that you will be able to soon though, as this isn't the first time this has happened.

Re: Geforce 300 series?

Since the 400 series will be out soon, that wouldn't make too much sense.
Btw., AMD did the same with Mobility Radeon HD 5145 (aka 4570) and 5165 (aka 4670). Which is even worse in my opinion, since the 5000 series is considered to be AMD's DX11 product line.
