Re: OOPS with 2.6.34 vanilla kernel and 195.36.24 64 bits

Hi. I have Gentoo ~amd64 system with 2.6.34 vanilla-sources and 192.36.24 nvidia-drivers.
I don't have this error that was present in some previous kernel sources.

Rebuilt with gnu ld instead of gnu gold, this time works fine. I should have to take time to report this one, I think.

We're aware of the problem reported by erusul and adilsond. It has been root caused and should be fixed in a future driver release.

I've just compiled 2.6.34 on Debian Squeeze (Testing) and use 195.36.24 with no issues...

Debian Sid 64bit / kernel 2.6.34 but problem seen also on 2.6.33 although a dmesg message like this was never generated
196.36.15 / 196.36.24 / 256.25

it happens when a native or WINE app changes the resolution
using KWin composition on OpenGL with unredirectfullscreen=false instead of the default true does help as the composition is disabled and after a quick switch to a VT via the keyboard and back will let the app to recover ok sometimes, using unredirectfullscreen=true only a X zap via CTRL-ALT-Backspace helps

attached the bug report after trying to change the resolution in Unigine Heaven 2.1

You're right. It's just a technical way of saying "I am reporting this." I will be very interested to see what the actual issue is. It seems like most likely there might be a bug in one of the servers, or maybe the server is just a little bit overloaded. Maybe a good solution would be to upgrade to a good smpt server, have any of you guys heard of port25?
